How to Care for Your Chrome Hearts Pieces
Chrome Hearts is built to last a lifetime, but like anything well made, it rewards a little care. Looking after your pieces properly keeps them looking their best and protects the value you have invested. Here is how to care for each type of material in the collection.
Caring for Sterling Silver Jewellery
All genuine Chrome Hearts rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings are made from 925 sterling silver, which naturally tarnishes over time. This is normal and is actually a sign of genuine sterling silver — not a defect.
Daily care: Wipe each piece with a soft polishing cloth after wear to remove oils and moisture.
Storage: Keep silver in a dry place, ideally in a sealed bag or lined box, away from humidity. Storing pieces separately prevents scratching.
Avoid: Keep silver away from perfume, lotion, chlorine, and household chemicals, which accelerate tarnishing.
Deep cleaning: For heavier tarnish, use a gentle silver cleaner or a silver polishing cloth. Work carefully around engraved areas — a little tarnish left in the recesses actually enhances the depth of the Gothic detailing.
Caring for Leather Goods
Chrome Hearts bags, belts, and leather jackets are made from thick premium hide designed to age beautifully.
Keep dry: Avoid prolonged exposure to rain and moisture. If leather does get wet, let it air dry naturally away from direct heat.
Condition: Apply a quality leather conditioner occasionally to keep the hide supple and prevent cracking.
Store properly: Keep leather goods in a cool, dry place, stuffed lightly to hold their shape, and away from direct sunlight which can fade the colour.
Caring for Cotton and Fleece Garments
To protect hoodies, shirts, sweatshirts, and long sleeves:
Wash cold: Always wash inside out on a cold, gentle cycle to protect prints and graphics.
Air dry: Avoid the tumble dryer where possible. High heat shrinks heavyweight cotton and cracks printed designs. Air drying preserves both fit and finish.
Iron carefully: If needed, iron inside out on a low setting, avoiding direct contact with any prints.
Protecting Eyewear
Store Chrome Hearts glasses in their case when not in use, clean lenses with a microfibre cloth, and avoid leaving them in extreme heat which can affect the acetate frames and sterling silver hardware.
